2018 Recap

2018

Good God, 2018 was a lot to handle! It might have just be me, but I think it’s safe to assume many others felt the same. With most things it’s easy to get bogged down by the negative and forget about the good in life, and that’s exactly why I’m writing this, to highlight the best of the best of my 2018 experience.

For starters I got the opportunity to work on a few really fun projects. The first one is a short film called “Last Day”. While there was mild controversy that surrounded the short, I’m very proud of it, and am thankful I had the opportunity to tell this story. Through the process of making it I was blessed enough to meet the amazing actors Jesse Boone and Wes Newman. They had great chemistry and were a blast to work with, and the two of them actually received an award for their dynamic performances! I couldn’t have been more proud of them! Both guys have incredible talent and I hope 2019 treats them right!

You're Grounded Poster

Grounded and home alone for the weekend, Bella finds herself trapped inside the house when a burglar breaks in. This is the synopsis of the next projects I worked on called “You’re Grounded”. This projects was a lot of fun and a real challenge because I had never worked in a thriller before, but I’m always down for a new challenge. For this projects I got to collaborate with Wes Newman again and a cinematographer I’ve worked with numerous times, Sean Anderson, (he also designed this website... thanks again Sean!) The coolest part of this project is I hired an actress I went to high school with. Isabella Ferregur was who I wrote the part of Bella for so it was super awesome that we got to bring the character to life. “You’re Grounded” is set to come out early this year and I will keep you all updated on the details.

Aside from the fun projects I worked on I also worked at a few not to fun places... I spent the better part of this year working graveyard shifts at a popular sandwich restaurant, and while I was thankful to have a job, I wasn’t the biggest fan of the situation. When I thought I was gonna be stuck cutting onions forever an amazing opportunity presented itself. Only a few blocks from my house was a start of video marketing firm called Varx Marketing, I applied and thankfully got a job as a video producer and director! This was definitely the highlight of my year.

The last thing I want to talk about is something I’ve already written about so I will keep it brief. Recently I teamed up with Brady Lindsey to produce a new vertical web series called “Ready to Mingle”. It set to premier in a new steaming service called Pocketflix and it’s gonna be a lot of fun!

All in all 2018 was actually a pretty great year, and I can’t wait to see what 2019 brings. I would also love to hear what the highlights of your year were so please feel free to comment them below. Lets make 2019 great!
